Richard exemplifies every characteristic of being the Cowboy of the Year. But when he laces up the skates, the attribute "gentleman" may be temporaily be set aside and it becomes all "heart"!

Richard is a teammate every hockey player would want on there team - willing to do whatever it takes to get a win for his team. Whether it's scoring a goal, stepping up for a teammate, laying a huge hit or sometimes even "bumping" the goalie, Richard is a true competitor.

Off the ice Richard bleeds Cowboy colors. He is always the first to offer help where help is needed, and always shows up for our events wearing a big smile and in his Cowboy golf shirt.

Some may say that Richard was brought into the Cowboy lifestyle by way of marriage (brothers-in- law, Cory May and Mike Haraguchi also in the ranks of past Cowboy of the Year), but we can all agree Richard Dietz was born to be a Cowboy.
