After nine successful years of playing in the Coast Hockey League, winning Division 2 championships in 2007 and again in 2009, the younger generation of the Cowboys were no long all that young. Lacking the necessary depth to sustain the same longevity as their fathers, Cowboy II moved on. The team folded in the 2013-14 with most of the remaining players graduating to the RIHL, some under special age exemptions.

Under the leadership of Derek and Cory May, the younger team would gradually replaces the "Original Team" in the RIHL, and continue to thrive.
